chilitaly

this recipe for chili-italian fusion came about when i had no beef for hoosier chili and no sauce for spaghetti--it's one of our favorites

ingredients:
1/2 lb Kroger mild pork sausage
one 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes
1/6th of the box of Ronzoni gluten-free speghetti
1 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp each of salt, italian seasoning, cumin & paprika

what to do:
cook sausage in 1/4 cup water in deep sauce pan until sausage is no longer pink
add can of diced tomato & another 1/4 cup water
add all spices, stir, bring to a boil
break speghetti noodles into thirds so noodles are shorter & add
boil on medium, stirring frequently, until noodles are soft

makes:
2 servings (about 437 calories each)

notes:
this is great by itself or with Boar's Head vermont cheddar cheese (shred a 1 inch cube)
if you don't like spicy, then just add a dash of cayenne instead of an 1/8 tsp
